Yorkshire Cat Rescue is on the Easter egg hunt early as they appeal to anyone who can help them by donating creme eggs! The charity sells the eggs at their centre and shops for a good few months up to Easter hidden in some adorable knitted chicks that go down a storm with volunteers, staff and visitors.

Volunteer Linda Forton who organises the knitting and selling of the eggs says “‘We sold 389 of these last year and are really hoping to increase it this time round so we can sell as many as possible. My motivation for coordinating this project is because of the wonderful work carried out by staff and an army of volunteers at YCR. I see first hand how every effort is made to give cats and kittens the very best care so that they can go on to live a full and happy life. New knitters to help us knit the chicks are always welcome and if anyone wants a basket or box of chicks to sell please don’t hesitate to get in touch”.

The charity purely relies on fundraising like this as they receive no government funding, or support. Anything you can do to help will be really appreciated.
