Gifts in Wills

Will you leave a gift in your Will?

Remembering Yorkshire Cat Rescue in your will can genuinely make a huge difference to the lives of many cats and kittens for years to come.

Every year, thousands of cats and kittens don't get the care and help they need. With your help, we can change this in the future.

The difference you could make

Without the kindness of people who remember us in their wills we would not be here today. These very special gifts help to fund our veterinary treatment costs, plus the everyday necessities such as food, litter, bedding and heating.

Leaving a gift in your will can help Yorkshire Cat Rescue be there for other vulnerable cats like Lorne, when they need us most.

Picture of Lorne
This poor little girl came to us after being found in a garden with what looked like injuries to her back legs and hips - most likely done by a car.
She could barely walk and needed urgent care at the vets. She also had one of the worst cases of fleas we have ever seen, and with her legs being so badly damaged she wouldn't have been able to scratch and must have been so uncomfortable and in so much pain.

We rushed her to our vets and they realised very quickly that she had severe breaks on both sides of her pelvis which needed to be treated by a specialist. We knew without treatment Lorne would not make it, so we sent her off to see the specialist vet. They told us the type of surgery Lorne needed would be very complex and later we found that it was one of the most complicated operations they had done for some time.

Poor Lorne had to have pins put in both sides to repair her pelvis, as well as 6 weeks of cage rest. The surgery alone cost over £4,000 plus the cost of her aftercare and other medications she needed.

Large or small, every special gift makes a difference

Yorkshire Cat Rescue has been helping injured, starving and abandoned cats and kittens since 1992 and with your help we can continue for many more years.

Every cat that comes into our centre is given the best possible care by our dedicated team. Every cat is microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and neutered, as well as any other medical or behavioural treatment required before rehoming.

We never put a healthy cat to sleep and sometimes this means we get chronically ill cats that can still lead a very good life but have to have long-term medication and/or treatment.

We believe there is a special someone out there for every cat in our care, and these important gifts help us to find the loving homes that they deserve.

Make sure your wishes are known

Having an up to date will is important for everyone, as it is the only way to guarantee your wishes are carried out. It is not only peace of mind for you, but also for your family and friends, who will be safe in the knowledge that everything happens just as you wished.

Your will is also an opportunity to remember causes that you care about. If cats have played a part in your life, we hope that you may remember Yorkshire Cat Rescue in your will
