How you can help us Volunteer Volunteer now Handyperson volunteer What does a Handyperson Volunteer do? A handyperson volunteer helps us maintain a safe and functioning site. Whether it's changing a light bulb, filling a crack in a tile or fixing broken furniture a handyperson uses their skill to fix problems that arise at our rehoming centre. What’s involved? General DIY tasks Painting (optional) Site upkeep Plumbing and electrical (optional depending on skills and experience) What skills are needed to do this role? Experience either professionally or personally in DIY Why should you become a Handyperson Volunteer? By helping us with the upkeep of the centre you help keep the site safe for everyone who works, volunteers or visits our centre as well as for our resident cats! By volunteering your expertise and skills you help us keep running and let us spend our money on the many cats that need it. When can you help with DIY? Our Handyperson volunteers can come in and help us anytime. Helping us maintain our centre can easily be fitted around other commitments you have. If you are interested in this volunteer role our Cattery Supervisor will talk to you about how we can contact you when we need your help. Additional information Yorkshire Cat Rescue welcomes and values its volunteers. They help us make a difference to the lives of cats when they need it most. To ensure our volunteers feel happy and supported we provide support through an induction and training.
