Assistant Retail Manager - Part-time Keighley

Yorkshire Cat Rescue has a vacancy for an assistant retail manager at its charity shop in Keighley.

The successful candidate will have experience in a charity shop at Assistant Manager level or will have been in a paid Retail Assistant role for some time and will have covered in the absence of the manager/assistant manager.

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the manager and running the shop in her absence.  This will include managing volunteers, receiving, sorting and presenting donated items and dealing with customers.  The Assistant Manager will also have responsibility for managing online sales and ensuring these are done to maximum benefit for the charity.

Salary - the Assistant Manager rate is £8.30 per hour, paid every four weeks.

Hours worked - three full days per week (8 hours per day).

Holidays - 21 days plus 8 days Bank Holiday pro-rata per annum.

Required skills and attributes

Good standard of numeracy and literacy

Excellent interpersonal skills - able to encourage and support volunteers

Excellent team building/working skills - able to work alongside paid staff and volunteers with differing levels of ability

Previous experience as Assistant Manager or long-term experience as a Retail Assistant in a charity shop

Excellent understanding of the way charity shops run

Good computer skills
