How you can help us Donate Current campaigns Please support our fospice cats in the autumn of their lives Donate Fundraise Some of the cats that come through our doors are sadly those that have a very limited lifespan, because they have a terminal condition, or are very old. As we don't want these cats to spend any more of the precious time they have left in our cattery we put them into 'fospice', that is hospice care with one of our foster carers. For as long as they have a quality of life - due to their age or illness - we know that being with our loving foster carers is the best place for them to spend their last days. Please help us to cover the costs of our fospice cats' medical treatment and care. It really will make a huge difference to their lives. At the moment we have 4 cats in fospice care. Sebby Sebby is 16 and came to us after her owner had passed away. We have been to the vets with her so many times after noticing she was unwell and we later found out she was in stage 2 of kidney disease. Sebby is also 16 and with around a years prognosis we decided it would be best for her to stay in fospice. She is currently coping well in her fospice home and is a happy girl. We have had issues with getting her to eat as she is quite fussy! We are just so glad that she can spend her final months or even years with us in a happy home receiving the best fospice care. Sooty Sooty is 18 years old, deaf and has stage 2 kidney failure. However that doesn't stop her from bringing out her playful side! Due to her age and her illness she has been placed in a fospice home where she will spend the rest of her twilight years. Casper Casper is 12 and was found outside as a stray. He came with various medical needs and has had a dental and various checks ups and procedures on his eyes due to an eye condition he has. Sadly he is also blind and struggles with vet procedures and stress. After more tests we found out he has chronic renal disease and his kidneys will only get worse over time, however for now they are being managed on a renal diet. He may need some more vet care further down the line, but due to his stress levels this will not be for some time and only if absolutely necessary. With everything he has going on and how stressed he has been we decided fospice would be the best place for him. Bella This is Bella. Bella is 14 and came in as a stray. Bella has some lesions on her legs and feet that the vets have diagnosed as eosinophilic lesion's that will likely come and go for the rest of her life. They do not tend to bother her too much, but can bleed so do have to be kept clean. She is currently not on any medication for this. She also has some issues with her gut and certain levels within her bloods that can indicate some forms of cancer, but without full diagnosis and extensive very invasive tests, the vets cannot be sure about this. We have taken the decision to put Bella in fospice as there are a lot of question marks over her health and how long she has left - this could be months or possibly years. We are committed to caring for all of these fospice cats and any future ones we have until it is the right time to say goodbye. The love and comfort our fospice foster carers give to these cats is priceless and we are happy to pay for everything that they need. It is a small part of what we do as a re-homing centre, but it means so much to these very special cats. Your help with this appeal will help us care for them and mean we can continue to do this for other cats in the future. Thank you and big purrs from Sebby, Sooty, Casper & Bella. Please support us with a donation, or if you can afford it, please donate monthly so that we will have the funds to care for our fospice babies. Thank you Manage Cookie Preferences
