Some roles require volunteers to be out at about for Yorkshire Cat Rescue. Read on for more details.
Drivers for vet runs
We need volunteers who are able to do vet runs for us – mainly collecting and dropping off cats at our vets in Mytholmroyd and Halifax for neutering and other treatments. Usually the cats don’t require an appointment, but sometimes the vet run will include an appointment, which will mean being there at a fixed time.
Drivers can use our van (Renault Trafic) – subject to having no penalty points on their license and subject to a satisfactory driving session with us, or may use their own vehicle for which expenses will be paid.
Vet runs are normally required on weekday mornings – delivering the cats to the vets between 8.30am and 9.30am (30 minute drive from our centre), and weekday afternoons to collect the cats between 4.30pm and 6pm.
We also require volunteers to collect donated items of stock for our shops and transfer donated items between our shops, collect equipment to be used at our centre and sometimes collect cats who are being relinquished to our care. Volunteers may be able to use their own vehicle, but for collections of stock it is likely that our van will be required.
