Our Rehoming Centre

Our rehoming centre is based at Cross Roads, between Haworth and Keighley in West Yorkshire.

We have three blocks of pens with external runs and one room with internal pens only.

Block one contains 6 pens.  It was refurbished in spring 2014 thanks to a grant from Support Adoption for Pets.  The pens are built of upvc, glass and mesh and afford a warm and highly visible safe environment for cats awaiting new homes.  The pens have internal bedrooms with access to an individual outside play area.

Block one

Block three contains 10 pens.  This was paid for by The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust, The Marchig Animal Welfare Trust, Support Adoption for Pets and by a kind donor who left us a gift in their will. Like block one, the pens are made of upvc, mesh and glass and there is one indoor pen, the rest having an outside run.

Block Three

All of our pens are insulated, double-glazed and heated.  They are also fitted with Cat Genie toilets – making them cleaner and sweeter smelling for both the cats and the people caring for them.

We upgraded our emergency/quarantine pens and our final small block during the course of 2016.

Another legacy enabled us to upgrade our kitten accommodation in early 2015.  This accommodation provides a warm environment for kittens and their mums awaiting permanent homes or foster homes and importantly it is easy to keep clean and easy to disinfect.  This minimises the risk of infection or disease spreading.

Kitten House

We are also very fortunate in that we have an extensive foster network and we are able to utilise foster homes for pregnant and nursing queens and their kittens, and for under-age orphan kittens.
